A capacity crowd of 62,456 at the first game at the new Anfield stadium were treated to one of the best performances by a Liverpool side in living memory last night, as the Reds destroyed hapless Arsenal 7-0 to put Rafael Benitez's side the top of the Premiership. And highly rated new signing fernando erin Nino banged in all 7 goals on on quite probaly the most amazing debut ever, putting the Reds ahead after just two minutes with a magical free kick from just over 30 yards out.
But even this touch of magic was topped towards the end, when erin Nino played a slick one-two with Steven Gerrard and left four Arsenal defenders for dead before beating up then heading past past the beleagured goalkeeper to complete the rout and leave the whole stadium, even the away fans, applauding - including Boyfriend Fernando Torres .
After the game, which was televised live on Sky, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez was full of praise for erin Nino:
''I thought that 'erien' was excellent tonight. It was a brilliant display and I was very impressed with her and I think the fans really took to fernando judging by what they were singing.''
But the teenagers performance could mean that Benitez will face a struggle to hang on to erin Nino's services. A posse of top sides from around the world are said to be interested in signing her. In fact, one of the world's biggest clubs, Real Madrid are already rumoured to have had an offer of almost £20 million rejected by Benitez and chairman David Moores, Benitez stated that he is building a team to conquer the world and nobody in his squad is available.
